Evaluation Q5 - How did you attract/address your audience?

Evaluation Q4 - Who would be the audience for your media product?

My magazine targets the market demographic, which are teens, young people and urban followers of R&B culture.  The class or social status of the demographic is irrelevant as the magazine is aimed towards anyone who has an interest in music no matter how wealthy or how poor, predominantly the magazine would be attractive to young black Americans as they are more likely to have experienced a greater influence in R&B music rather than young people in the UK. Sexuality and physical ability will not have an influence on the target demographic as it will be available to anyone regardless of their sexuality or physical ability as the magazine does not contain any sensitive content relating to sexuality and lifestyle choices and features both men and women also, the magazine contains articles on both able and disabled people.  Age is very important in the construction of a target demographic however it is not the only or most important factor as there is much more to consider such as ethnicity, region and gender. Magazines cannot merely focus on age to construct a target demographic for example a grime music magazine would most likely be aimed at black British males who show an interest in that genre of music, here the region is considered as the demographic is UK based males, ethnicity is considered as we have established that it is black males and gender of course plays a large role and is males here.

My ideal reader would be a US or UK based male of black ethnicity aged 18, preferably a music enthusiast pursuing a career in the music industry.  Consumer profile: TV channels/programmes - BET, Channel AKA, MTV Base, Starz TV, Flava, Kiss and 106 & Park.
